Dear Ladies, 

I wanted to take a moment to express my truly heartfelt gratitude for your continued support and loyalty to me and to Blushington. When I think about how far we have come in the 3 years since we opened our doors, I think about how blessed I am that I get to come to work every day with the most incredible clients who have become friends and that Tara, Karen and I have created a safe space for you to vent about your troubles, where you can come in and share your exciting news, knowing you will be met with matched excitement, but also where you feel comfortable and supported in sharing your upsetting life updates.  

I have said for years that I love what I do so much, that I would do it for free if I could.  
 

Sydney, but really, the world is changing at a rapid pace and the cost to keep Blushington running has increased significantly in the past 24 months, and I have held off making this email for as long as could.  

So, I am reaching out to inform you of an upcoming change that will take effect starting July 1st, 2024. After careful consideration, evaluation and professional advice, a slight price adjustment will be made on hair extension maintenance. I understand that any change in pricing can raise questions, so I want to take this opportunity to provide you with a transparent explanation. 

First and foremost, please rest assured that this decision was not made lightly. As a small business, I always strive to offer the highest quality services while also ensuring the business is sustainable, so we won’t have to close our doors and leave you searching for a new salon. The upcoming price adjustment is a necessary step towards maintaining the high level of service and expertise that you have come to expect from me. 

So, what justifies this increase?  

  • Every year, our salon rent increases, this most recent increase is the biggest we have ever had 

  • I import many of our products from overseas, the cost of freight has increased significantly 

  • I provide many complimentary products as well as stock top-ups for purchase. These brands have also increased my costs  

  • As hair extensions are my primary focus, I have been able to invest heavily in education in the past 12 months, and the feedback from many of you noticing dramatic changes in the standard of your installation and maintenance has been incredible 

  • Along with the education improving the quality of my services, it has improved my speed. You may have noticed that your appointment times have been reduced, which is wonderful for your schedules 

I understand that changes like these can sometimes be met with uncertainty, but I want to assure you that my primary goal remains unchanged: to provide you with exceptional service, the highest quality products and to keep our doors open so we can continue to provide a fun, warm environment that you look forward to visiting.  

The increase will apply to appointments from July 1st.
